The design of the cufflinks of this series is based on a decorative lattice depicting the coats of arms of sixty largest cities in the Russian Empire. Today, this lattice continues to adorn the first public museum in Moscow, the Kremlin Armoury Chamber, established under Emperor Alexander I. The cufflinks are manufactured in two versions with inserts depicting the coat of arms of the Russian Empire. The bottom part of one model depicts an engraved image of an ancient Russian city, the back part of the other features an engraved silhouette of Yuri Dolgorukiy (Yuri The longarmed) fighting the dragon. Lacquered miniatures, decorating the cufflinks, are made by the artists of a famous Fedoskino village in a traditional Russian folk technique of hand painting on papier mache. The elegance and beauty of these cufflinks are underlined by the chastity of their classic style emphasized by the circle of their silver cast.  Silver 21.5 gr, papier mache.
